Where I Went, What I Did, And What I Wore” by Barbara Schulman

This blog is a repository of my attempts to communicate with moving images and sound.

The header image for this blog is also from artist Barbara Schulman.  I feature her work here mainly because I find it so visually appealing but also because of her creative process as an artist. I am drawn to how she uses found textiles, bus tickest, labels, hankies and stitches them together into beautiful composit pieces. Through creative reframing she appropriates the pieces for her own communicative purposes.  In so many ways, this is what we do when we make movies.

I hope to capture some of Schulman’s beauty and complexity in my own creative endeavors.
